You probably already know I love to travel. And you probably also know I’ve recently spent a week in Mallorca. Today’s blog post is dedicated to a beautiful hotel in a gorgeous little town – EL Guia hotel, Soller.
EL GUIA HOTEL, SOLLER
The location itself couldn’t be more perfect. In the center of Soller, a town known for its train to Palma town and tram to the port. Both stations are only a few steps away from the hotel. There is approximately a 5-minute walk to the main square with the cathedral. El Guia hotel lies in a calm street with only a little traffic. They also offer parking (with a fee – 10€/day). So in conclusion, you have a hotel in the middle of the gorgeous old town, in a peaceful location with its own parking.
El Guia hotel is a smaller, family-run hotel, that has its charm. Gorgeous yard, where there is also a restaurant, brings you to another world. A cozy, green world. Where they serve aperitif as a welcome and where you get water in a hotel bottle. Maybe nothing special for you, but I feel such little details give the place its soul.
Rooms
There is not a lot of rooms, but they are comfy and pretty! My room had an amazing view – I was able to see the pool and the surrounding mountains from the window. It was magical in the morning. The bed is comfortable and if you don’t like it, they can change the side of your matters to the softer side. My favourite thing? It was completely dark and silent. I am very, very sensitive and when traveling I rarely sleep well. Here I was asleep almost immediately and I was sleeping until morning. There is everything you need in the room. A bed, the bathroom, wardrobes (that give the whole interior this amazing old vibe), airconditioning, there are even tea bags in the room and there is a small basket of small necessities in the bathroom.
Extra offers
I’ve already mentioned EL Guia offers a pool, but they also offer a sauna and a jacuzzi. The pool’s temperature is just right and even I went for a swim in it 😉 The hotel personnel really thinks of everything and you can borrow a pool towel. The pool surroundings are super lovely and you could easily just lay there for a day and just enjoy. I haven’t tried the sauna and the hot tub this time since it was too hot outside.
Food
There is one thing left I want to discuss – food 😉 El Guia hotel offers bed&breakfast or half board. But trust me, half board is the way to go.
First things first – breakfast. Self-service breakfast, that has everything one needs to start a day. Cereals, fresh fruits, sausages, homemade jams, eggs, pancakes, and many more. You also get fresh coffee and tea. My favourite part was the freshly squeezed orange juice. There is a special table with oranges on it with a machine that squeezes your oranges. For fresh juice! Can I have that every morning?
And dinner… I am not really sure if I am capable of picturing it with words. The service was great, the food was just perfect and the ambient was amazing. The menu offers tipical Mallorcan cuisine, combined with other foods. Oh, and if/when you are there, you HAVE to try the almond cake. DI-VI-NE!
To summon up. If you are visiting Mallorca, seeing Soller is a must, it is such a lovely town. You should give it a chance 😉 And absolutely when you are in Soller you should stay in El Guia hotel, you won’t be disappointed. And the price is surprisingly normal. More about the prices HERE.
Xoxo, A.
Oh and one more thing! On Mallorca, they have a tourist tax that depends on the number of stars a hotel has. El Guia hotel has four stars (well deserved) and the tourist tax costs 3,30€, that you pay at the hotel.
