Alexis hotel Chania, Crete

New destination, new hotels. This time we choose Crete. Let’s start at the beginning, in the city of Chania where airport is near (there is a second one in Heraklion). Let me tell you more about Alexis hotel Chania, Crete.

Alexis Hotel Chania, Crete

A small and cozy hotel with great staff (seriously, Theo will help with everything, including directions on where to go next!), comfortable rooms and great views, on a little hill on the outskirts of Chania, in a quiet area, with private parking and swimming pool. The center is a few minutes ’drive away, there is also a bus stop in the immediate vicinity of the hotel, and the hotel is also close to the motorway junction. It may be a little harder to find without navigation, but we didn’t have any major problems.

Rooms

The Alexis Hotel Chania has only 26 rooms, which is great, because then there is no crowd, even if the hotel is full. They offer rooms with a sea view or a partial sea view, which we had. This may sound bad, but we had a really gorgeous view of the city of Chania and the sea view so I say it was even better! The best part of the room for me was the bathroom. The shower is heavenly! Of course, all rooms have air conditioning.

Extra offers

Pooooool. 😉 Hidden behind the hotel is a swimming pool, and by the pool is a jacuzzi. Due to its beautiful location, it is a hidden oasis where you are safe from crowds and heat. The water is just cold enough to freshen up but not to catch a cold. There are sun loungers by the pool, and towels can be rented.

Food

The Theodosi Restaurant is located next to the hotel and serves lunch or dinner, and breakfast is served in the morning at the same restaurant. It offers a really beautiful view as it stands on top of a hill and overlooks the city of Chania on one side and the sea on the other. If you are nearby, I recommend a visit to the restaurant, as the food is top quality and offers real Cretan specialties, among other things.

Breakfast is in one word PHENOMENAL! It is self-service, but due to the current situation, this is unfortunately not possible. They solved the situation by having breakfast given to you by an employee, and you simply say what you want and how much. It’s still some kind of Russian buffet, it’s just not you putting food on your plate, but someone else is giving you food. Breakfast is varied and delicious and I’m sure everyone gets something for their taste!

My favorite part of the breakfast was definitely the view! Let the picture speak for itself. The food was freshly prepared and really good, we were both full by the end of breakfast and were ready for a new day!
